Funeral services for Maria Delaluz Luna, 76, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas, with Alex Montilla and Lisseth Montilla officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Luna was born on May 18, 1950, in Coahuila, Mexico, to the late Antonio Flores Trevino and the late Paulita (Tapia) Davila, and died Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Lufkin.

          Maria enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and listening to music, especially Norteñas music. She loved to travel and had fond memories of trips to Shreveport and Las Vegas. She had a wonderful time on her trip to Cabo with her son, Nolberto. Maria was an amazing cook. Menudo and tamales were her specialty. All of Lufkin knew of her famous tamales. More than anything, Maria loved her family and grandchildren.

         She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Nolberto and Tina Rodriguez Luna of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Abel  Olvera of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Veronica Luna and Robert Galindo of Diboll, Texas; grandson, Nolberto Luna, Jr. of Lufkin; grandson, Andres Luna and wife, Zayra Luna of Lufkin; grandson, Ruben Rodriguez of Lufkin; grandson, Tino Rodriguez of Diboll; granddaughter and husband, Amber and Matthew Lewis of Lufkin; grandson, Ariel Olvera and wife, Lilly Olvera of New Caney, Texas; grandson, Erik Olvera of Lufkin; grandson, Juan Aguilar and wife, Brisa Aguilar of Lufkin; granddaughter, Ariana Aguilar of Lufkin; great-grandson, Ezio Luna; great-grandson, Kaiden Rodriguez; great-grandson, Ruben Rodriguez, Jr.; great-grandson, Jakob Rodriguez; great-grandson, Ryan Rodriguez; great-granddaughter, Emma Rodriguez; great-granddaughter, Jimena Lewis; great-granddaughter, Luna Lewis; great-grandson, Tex Lewis; great-granddaughter, Aleah Olvera; great-granddaughter, Ava Olvera; great-grandson, Erik Olvera, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Ivy Aguilar; brother, Armando Flores; sister, Pabla Lopez; sister, Maria Antonia Perez; brother, Jose Juan Flores; sister, Romelia Romo; son-in-law, Juan Daniel Aguilar; and numerous other extended family members.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Margarito Luna; and daughter, Ofelida Aguilar.

          Pallbearers will be Ruben Rodriguez, Tino Rodriguez, Andres Luna, Nolberto “Jr.” Luna, Ariel Olvera, Erik Olvera, and Juan Aguilar.

          Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home.
