Maria De Jesus Esparza

          Memorial services for Maria De Jesus Esparza, 50, of Lufkin, will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Deacon Jesus Reyes officiating.

          Mrs. Esparza was born on August 27, 1974, in Lubbock, Texas, to the late Pedro Avalos and Juanita (Arredondo) Avalos, and died Monday, April 28, 2025, in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Esparza enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She was a stay at home mom and loved her kids and family greatly, especially her grandchildren.

          She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Moises Esparza, Jr.; daughter, Ashley Esparza of Eagle Pass, TX; daughter, Sofia Esparza of Lufkin; son, Moises Esparza III of Lufkin; grandchildren, Rumaldo Esparza, Jose Alonso Martinez, Rosa Maria Garzia; brothers, Jose Arredondo, Armando Arredondo; and sisters, Yesenia Avalos, Esmeralda Avalos.

          Mrs. Esparza was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Maria Elva Esparza.
