Graveside services for Marie (Doyen) Darr, 84, of San Augustine, Texas, will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Gann Cemetery in Pollok with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating.
Mrs. Darr was born on September 14, 1940, in Hemphill, Texas, to the late Eddie Everette Doyen and Ethel Mary (Loggins) Doyen, and died Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Lufkin.
Mrs. Darr enjoyed traveling, fishing, and dancing in her younger years. She was an avid reader. Mrs. Darr liked to have a nice conversation with any guest. Most of all she was a loving mother, wife, and would do absolutely anything for her children.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Dean and Martha Peveto of Pollok, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Billy John and Jeana Peveto of Silsbee, TX; son and daughter-in-law, James Earl and Christine Peveto of Silsbee, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Kenneth Sanches of Silsbee, TX; grandson and wife, Jeremy and Angie Peveto of Vidor, TX; granddaughter and husband, Misty Sanches Ford and Chris Ford of Lumberton, TX; grandson and wife, Josh and Nikki Peveto of Lumberton, TX; grandson, Keith Peveto of Beaumont, TX; granddaughter and husband, April Sanches Martin and William Martin of Orange, TX; granddaughter and husband, Angela Peveto Jones and Bobby Jones of Lufkin; granddaughter, Marie Peveto; great-grandchildren, Tyler McGrath, Jackson McGrath, Annabelle Ford, Emma Ford, Amelia, Remi, and Effie. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Darr; daughter Angela Peveto; brothers, Raymond Willis Doyen, Lennis Doyen, and John D. Doyen; sisters, Vergie Lee “Dee Dee” Bradshaw, Henrietta Risinger, Marcell Kornegay, and Betty Diffey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Peveto, Josh Peveto, Keith Peveto, Will Martin, Chris Ford, and David Landrum.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
