Mark Patterson

         Funeral services for Mark Patterson, 45, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin Texas, with  Bro. Michael Brazile officiating. Interment will follow at Largent Cemetery in Hudson.

         Mr. Patterson was born on May 12, 1978, in Conroe, Texas, and adopted by John B. Patterson and Vicky (Ford) Patterson, and died Monday, August 14, 2023, in Lufkin.

         Mark was a family man and always put his family first. He was a Godly man that was very caring and giving. Mark enjoyed music and playing softball and basketball.

         Mark is survived by his step-father, Mahlon Clair Hammetter of Lufkin; wife, Hattie Redd of Lufkin; children, Morni McGaughey, Shayne Wilkins and fiancé Aaliyah, Heaven Trapp, Braden Trapp, and Brenden Greifzu, all of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Randy Kay of Lufkin; niece and husband, Morgan and Christopher Stoffer of Lufkin; niece, Skye Williams and husband Peyton of Hemphill; nephew, Benjammin Carruth of Silsbee; nephew, Brandon Brazile and wife Destini of Pineland; nephew, Michael Brazile and wife Melissa of Hemphill;  along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

         He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicky (Ford) Hammetter ; and grandparents, Gladys Wauline Ford and Austin Davis Ford.

          Pallbearers will be Brandon Brazile, Zach Hamilton, Peyton Williams, Gary Jackson, Dustin Dorcz, and Joel Mcleory.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Mahlon Clair Hammetter, Randy Nerren, Debbie Kay and Shayne Wilkins, and Malcom McGaughey.

          Special memorials may be made to Denman Avenue Baptist Church Preschool, 1807 E. Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

          Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home.
