Funeral services for Martha Gaitan, 77, of Diboll, will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista De Diboll with Pastor Sergio Zapata officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Haven in Diboll, Texas.

          Mrs. Gaitan was born on January 29, 1949, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, to  the late Teresa (Hernandez) Serrano, and died Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Lufkin.

          A devoted Christian who loved her church and walked deeply in her faith, Martha, warmly known as Tita, spent her life making her house a true home for everyone she loved. Family was her absolute world, and nothing brought her greater joy than being a doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. When she wasn't caring for her family, she could always be found passionately cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. A sports fan through and through, her loyalty to her favorite Texas teams was unmatched, but she had a well-known disdain for the Houston Astros. Tita’s vibrant spirit and profound love for her family will be dearly missed.

         She is survived by her husband, Baldemar Gaitan, Sr. of Diboll; son, Baldemar Gaitan, Jr. of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Bertha and Domingo Villanueva Jr. of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Patty Gaitan of Diboll; grandson and wife, Baldemar and Azalia Gaitan, III; grandson, Samuel Franco Gaitan; granddaughter and husband, Alejandra and Jason Martinez; granddaughter and husband, Cristyna and Angel Cruz; grandson and wife, Michael and Jazmin Gaitan; grandson, Juan Bosquez; grandson, Alejandro Bosquez; grandson, Andy Villanueva; granddaughter, Elena Villanueva; granddaughter, Monica Villanueva; granddaughter, Alexus Gaitan; granddaughter and husband, Sianna and Garret Peck; and great-grandchildren, Baldemar IV, Moises, Kinsler, Lia, Ezekiel, Yulianna, Isabella, Sebastian, and Kiana.

         She was preceded in death by her mother; daughter, Chona Gaitan’ and daughter-in-law, Maricela Gaitan.

          Pallbearers will be Samuel Franco Gaitan, Baldemar Gaitan III, Michael Gaitan, Juan Bosquez, Alejandro Bosquez, and Domingo Villanueva, Jr.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Villanueva and Juan Rodriguez.

          The family would like to offer a special thanks to the dialysis team at I Dialysis in Nacogdoches.

          Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2026, at Primera Iglesia Bautista De Diboll.
