Mary Jane (Ruth) Widner

          Graveside services for Mary Jane (Ruth) Widner, 80, of Zavalla, will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Barge Cemetery in Zavalla with Bro. Cary Modisett officiating.

          Mrs. Widner was born February 24, 1938 in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late George Byron Ruth and Pairlee Turpin, and died Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Widner resided in Zavalla and was former resident of Vidor. She was a member of the Vidor Assembly of God; she taught Sunday School and at one time was the leader of the Missionettes. Mrs. Widner enjoyed working in her yard, was an expert seamstress, and a great interior decorator.

          She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry Widner of Zavalla; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jody Jackson of Humble; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Barbara Widner of Zavalla; son, David Widner of Zavalla; grandson and wife, Blake and Lynn Jackson of Humble; grandson, Brent Jackson of Humble; granddaughter, Jennifer Widner of Vidor; grandson and wife, Keith and April Widner of Buna, TX; great-grandson, Brady Jackson of Humble; great-granddaughter, Olive Jackson of Humble; great-grandson, Beau Jackson of Humble; great-grandson, Zack Deskey of Nederland; great-granddaughter, Cameron Grey of Buna; great-granddaughter, Ellissa Grey; great-grandson, Corbin Widner of Buna; great-granddaughter, Aubry Widner of Buna; sisters, Sarah Myers, Charlotte Pope, Becca Ruth, and Pat Chandler; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

          Mrs. Widner was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty, Dorothy and Barbara.
