Graveside services for Mary Dell Morehead, 88, of Huntington, will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Huntington, Texas, with Pastor Ty Martin officiating.

          Mrs. Morehead was born on May 6, 1938, in Huntington, Texas, to the late Charles Owen Forrest and Annie Inez (Lacey) Forrest, and died on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Huntington.

          Mary loved her family very much and they loved her deeply in return. She was also dedicated to her church and loved her Lord and Savior. She also held her church family close to her heart. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting and playing games with her neighbors.

          She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Tammy Morehead of Huntington; grandson, Christopher Morehead of Huntington, grandson, Zachary Morehead of Huntington, granddaughter, Hannah Martin of Huntington; great-granddaughter, Autumn Morehead; great-grandson, Gunner Morehead; great-grandson, Gabriel Martin; great-grandson, Levi Morehead; great-grandson, Tyler Morehead; great-grandson, Caleb Martin; numerous nieces and nephews; sister,  Joy Nell Settle of Lufkin; and sister, Linda Pinner of Nederland.

          Mrs. Morehead was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers.

          Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home.
