Funeral services for Mary Pierce, 80, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas with Pastor Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas.
Mrs. Pierce was born on April 3, 1945, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Virgil “Bud” Thomas Madden and Mary Christine (Truss) Madden, and died Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Lufkin.
Mary loved fishing with her husband on Lake Sam Rayburn. She enjoyed cooking, especially during the holidays, and she adored spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Martha Pierce of Lufkin; son, Bryan Pierce of Conroe; granddaughter and husband, Elizabeth and Joel Dees of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Kevin Pierce, II and wife, Maci Pierce of Lufkin; granddaughter, Alyssa Pierce of Lufkin; grandson, Chance Pierce of Pflugerville; grandson, Kai Pierce of Bryan; grandson, Creed Pierce of Bryan; granddaughter, Noe Pierce of Bryan; great-granddaughter, Harper Pierce of Lufkin; great-grandson on the way, Cohen Pierce of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Linda Madden of Apple Springs; brother, Leon Madden of Garrison; sister, Diane Roberts of Lufkin; sister, Sue Leer of Indiana; sister-in-law, Helen Smith of Lufkin; a number of nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Chuck Lundstedt. Special thanks to Vicky Lundstedt-Davis for all the help with guiding us through this difficult time.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Pierce; sisters Betty Sullivan and Melba Lundstedt; and brothers, Sammy Madden, James Madden, V.T. Madden Jr., and Maurice Truss.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Pierce II, Joel Dees, Alyssa Pierce, Darrell Roberts, Moe Sanchez, and Johnny Sanchez.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home.
