Mary Margaret (Murphy) Price

         Mary Margaret (Murphy) Price, 80, of Lufkin, was born on January 4, 1946, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Jim Murphy and Irene (Parise) Murphy, and passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

          Ms. Price resided in Dallas, Texas for over 40 years, working in the medical field for various physicians, most notably Dr. J. Douglas Crowder for 17 years as his Office Manager. She returned to Lufkin in 2021 to be near family.

          Ms. Price is survived by her sister, Judy Murphy of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kennetha Murphy of Lufkin; nephew and wife, Jarod and Patty Murphy of Huntington; niece and husband, Jamie Murphy and David Alsbrooks of Lufkin; nephew, Jason Murphy of Lufkin; nephew and wife, Justin and Meghan Murphy of Deer Park; and 6 great-nieces and great-nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Mark Wayne Childers; and brother, David Murphy.

          Ms. Price’s wishes were to be cremated with no funeral services. Private burial of her ashes will take place at Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
