Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Jr.

          Funeral services for Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Jr., 39, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Heriberto Herrada  officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

          Miguel was born March 13, 1982, in Dallas, Texas, to Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Sr. and Minerva (Servin) Gonzalez, and died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in The Woodlands.

          Miguel A. Gonzalez lived his life as many would regard by the golden rule. He was an admirable son, a protector to his family, and a kind and serviceable friend. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

          Miguel is survived by his sister, Minerva Gonzalez of Lufkin, TX; sister, Jael Gonzalez of Fort Dodge, IA; brother, Jose Andres Gonzalez of Dallas, TX; father, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Sr. of Mexico; nephew, Dion Bracamontes of San Antonio; niece, Elva M. Valtierra of Lufkin; niece, Jahzara Chandler; nephews, Anthony Newsome and Antonyo Newsome, both of Fort Dodge, IA; great-nieces, Ava Villatoro and Natalie Ortez; great-nephews, Nichiuas Villatoro and Noah Ortez; along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and lots of loving friends and extended family.

          He was preceded in death by his mother; and nephew, Avariae Chandler.

          Pallbearers will be Jose A. Gonzalez, Joe Servin, Carlos Servin, Chris Servin, Chris Servin, Jr., Mario A. Servin, Jr., Dion C. Bracamontes, Jonathan Ortiz, and Milo Lopez.

          Honorary pallbearer will be Peter Castellanos.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2022, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
