Mike Hendry

          Funeral services for Mike Hendry, 59, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating.

          Mr. Hendry was born on January 31, 1965, in Lufkin, Texas, and died Monday, March 11, 2024, in Splendora.

          Mr. Hendry worked as a crane operator in the port of Houston. He was an excellent mechanic. Mr. Hendry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering with computers. He loved his family and always had a smile on his face. 

          He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marie Hendry of Lufkin; daughter, Susie Burnore of La Porte, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tiffany Hendry of Splendora, TX; grandsons, Hayden Rhodes, Conner Rhodes, Willie J. Burnore, Corey Howard, and Nathaniel Hendry; granddaughters, Brynlei Rhodes, MaKayla Burnore, Faith Burnore, Kiersten Burnore, Annie Rae Burnore, Chloe Hendry, and Kaidince Hendry; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Michelle Hendry of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and David Jumper of Lufkin; niece, Angela Patel and husband Nimish; niece, Sharri Hendry; nephew, Justin Rushing; niece, Krystal Flowers; niece, Jackie Rushing; along with numerous cousins.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephews, Jeff Jumper and Justin Jumper.

          Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home.
