Mittie Jones Ray

          Graveside services for Mittie (Jones) Ray, 74, of Zavalla, will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025,10:30 a.m. at Zavalla Cemetery in Zavalla, Texas with Pastor W.C. Roach officiating.

          Ms. Ray was born on September 26, 1951, in Lufkin, Texas, to Jack Jones and Blanch Amanda Weeks Lefler, and passed peacefully into her heavenly home Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Huntington, Texas.

          Mittie was a devoted mother to her daughter, and a loving “MeMe” to her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. She will also be remembered as a wonderful sister whose kindness, strength, and steady love enriched the lives of all her siblings.

          Mittie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Shoel Brashear of Nogalus Prairie; beloved grandchildren, Carsen, Shada, Layton, Kylee, and Huxlee; sister, Mindy Jones of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Dean Wesley of Hudson; brother and sister-in-law, Robert  and Kay Lynn Jones of Zavalla; brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Pam Jones of Pollock; brother and sister-in-law, Delbert and Vicki Jones of Huntington; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.         Mittie’s life was also blessed by the friendship of special friends Kay Jones, Jeannette Barnes, Kathy Huxley, and Julia Woods.

          Ms. Ray was preceded in death by her parents; beloved  stepfather, Bert Lefler; brother, Burton Jones; and dear friend, Debbie Oliver.

          Pallbearers will be brothers, Martin Jones, Robert Jones and Delbert Jones, and nephews, Leslie Jones, Dustin Jones and Jackson Wesley.

          Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Zavalla Cemetery.
