Memorial services for Morris “Dooney” Parrish, 76, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Mike Loften officiating.

          Mr. Parrish was born on October 14, 1947, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Morris Eulen Parrish and Mary Frances Kelley and, and died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in Houston.

          Mr. Parrish was a avid sports fan. He was an All-District player in Lufkin for 3 sports. Mr. Parrish earned a Football scholarship to Blinn College.

          He is survived by his nephew, Jason Wilkison of Lufkin; niece and husband, Robin and Jack Furguson of Splendora, TX; great niece and husband, Kalyn and Curtis Yates of Buffalo, TX; great-great nephew, Case Yates of Buffalo, TX; two great-great nieces, Hazel and Jenna Yates of Buffalo, TX; cousins, Claude E. Welch, Gordon Lynn, Veta Lynn Ondrusek and husband Gene; Sarah Lou Ritchie, Pattie Jackson; special friends, David Brevelle, and Lyle Witherell.  

          He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Eulen Parrish and Mary Frances Kelley; sister, Cyndi Wilkison; and brother-in-law, Rudy Wilkison.
