Funeral services for Nellave Wallace Dominy, 80, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, September 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Pastor Billy Jack Smith officiating. Interment will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby, Texas at 4:00 p.m. following the funeral service.
Mrs. Dominy was born April 3, 1941, in Appleby, Texas, to Edward Wagner and Katharyn (Holmes) Wagner, and died Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in Lufkin.
Mrs. Dominy worked as a nurse’s aide the majority of her life. She retired from Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital after 20 years. Mrs. Dominy was a great mother, homemaker, and cook. She was a member of Chestnut Drive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dominy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Ruby Wallace of Nacogdoches, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Dr. Elizabeth Wallace of Stephenville, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Leon Engle of Nacogdoches, TX; granddaughter, Joshlyn Wallace of Nacogdoches, TX; grandson and wife, James and Shaylee Engle of Gilmer, TX; granddaughter and husband, Sara and Collin Moore of Nacogdoches, TX; great-granddaughters, Aniston, Blaire, and Charlotte Engle, and Baby Eva due in November, all of Gilmer, TX; great-granddaughters, Audrie and Rylie Moore of Nacogdoches; sister, Josephine Pietsch of New Braunfels, TX; sister, Marianne Ladd of Deport, TX; sisters-in-law, Vivian Wallace of Gonzales, TX, and Doris Wagner of Brookeland, TX; special loving caregiver, Katrinka Carnes; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Hayden Wallace; brother, Edward “Buzz” Wagner; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Ray Patterson; brothers-in-law, Arlen Pietsch and Joe Ladd; and most recently her second husband, Charles Dominy.
Pallbearers will be Cameron McClendon, Kenny Lawson, Brady Lawson, Kyle Lawson, Nathan Lawson, and Brandon Click.
