Funeral services for Norman “Bubs” Harper, 74, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Pastor Doug Hogston officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery in Pollok.
Mr. Harper was born on August 5, 1951, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Cecil E. Harper and Agnes (Parks) Harper, and died Friday, April 17, 2026, in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Harper was a member of Diboll First United Pentecostal Church and loved going to church. He served in the United States Army and United States Navy Reserve. Mr. Harper was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros fan. He enjoyed traveling to see his granddaughter.
Mr. Harper is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Harper of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Harper and Rob Cunningham of Raeford, NC; granddaughter, Savannah Cunningham of Raeford, NC; sister, Carolyn Jones of Lufkin; brother, Kent Harper of Deer Park, TX; brother and fiancé, Keith Harper and Cara Russell of Diboll; along with 3 sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews; and mother-in-law, Lavader Glass of Diboll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Harper; and brother, Bryan Harper
Pallbearers will be Keith Harper, Kent Harper, Justin Harper, Joe Myers, Dillon Valentine, and Rob Cunningham.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky White.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.
