Memorial services for Norris “Jr” “Skip” Goodwin, 58, of Pollok, will be held Monday, June 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Wayfairs Chapel (the Old Redtown School) with Bro. Joel Wood officiating.
Mr. Goodwin was born April 10, 1962 in Houston, Texas, to Norris James Goodwin and Ima Jean (Vardeman) Goodwin, and died Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Tyler.
Mr. Goodwin was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was always up for a good joke
Mr. Goodwin is survived by his wife, Diane Thompson of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Evelyn Goodwin of Pollok; sons, Dustin Goodwin, Justin Goodwin, and William Goodwin, all of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stephanie Thompson of Pollok; grandchildren, Travis, Andrew, Remington “Red” Goodwin, Kaleb Goodwin, Madyson, Maci, Mia, Emma, Ramzie Goodwin, Bexlee, Brextyne Goodwin, Jennifer, Lillian, and Tucker Thompson; father, Norris Goodwin of Pollok; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ima Jean Vardeman Goodwin; brothers, Vernon Keith Goodwin and Michael Duane Goodwin; and grandchild Tanner Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Lindsey, Ronny Kornegay, and Raymond Bell.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
