Oscar Bryant Buckner, Sr.

          Oscar Bryant Buckner, Sr., 84, of Huntington, was born January 28, 1937, in Huntington, Texas, to Isaac N. Buckner and Doddie (Rhodes) Buckner, and died Monday, December 6, 2021, at his residence.

          Mr. Buckner was a loving father and Papa. He was a truckdriver for over 30 years and was a member of Ora Missionary Baptist Church.

          Mr. Buckner is survived by his sons, Oscar “Junior” Buckner and wife Cathy, Anthony Buckner and wife Lisa, Damon Buckner, Jacob Anslum and wife Jill, William Buckner and wife Jennifer, and Stephen Buckner; grandchildren, Brittany Hall, LaTasha Horning, Nicholas Moore, Chace Buckner, Hailey Buckner, Kayden Buckner, Broc Buckner, and McKenzie Buckner; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Robbie Buckner; brothers, Wayne Buckner, Clyde Buckner, and Jurl Buckner; sisters, Merle Lee Buckner, Estelle Steele, Geraldine Nerren, and Ozell Lansford.

          In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
