Patricia Ann McCrory (Pat), age 84, was born on May 27, 1939, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Erian and Charles Short. Pat was called home on September 1, 2023, reuniting her with her parents, two brothers Willis Short and Eugene Short, two sisters Margie Holifield and Jewel Lyons, one grandson Blake Flynt and one great-granddaughter Charlee Parker.
Most of Pats working career was spent as a bookkeeper. Pat had a passion for oil painting. Painting portraits was her favorite. She loved playing the piano and was the pianist at her church for several years. She also played for the gospel group named The Gospelaires. During her seven-year residency at Kennedy Health and Rehabilitation she loved playing for friends and residents and was always ready to shake a leg.
Pat is survived by; Son Frankie Walters wife Missy of Laurel, Mississippi, grandchildren Jamie Walters wife Reagan, Leesha Parker husband Tommy, Misty Carter husband Jake, Ross Manns and Ashlie, Kristen Bonura husband Mike, Alex Walters, step grandchildren Austin Rogers, Chapman Rogers fiancé Madison Keenan, and nineteen great grandchildren. Sisters Syble Cohen, Sue Walters of Laurel, Mississippi, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Those of you who knew her knew she was constantly chasing her dreams. Today we pray the wings she has acquired have landed her steadfast and grounded in her forever heavenly home. In the Bible Mark 4:39 it says ~ he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be Still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. These words reflect how we felt as our mother was called home. Finally, she can know Peace, she can Be Still and all is Calm.
