Paulette Forrest

          Private graveside service for Paulette Forrest, age 85 of Lufkin will be held at Huntington Cemetery with Shafer Funeral Home officiating.

           Mrs. Forrest was born on July 2,1938 at her family home in Many Louisiana to JB and Beulah Wooley, and died on Saturday 11, 2023 in Lufkin. She was the fourth of five children. When she was thirteen, she moved to Huntington, Texas and remembered thinking she was in “ Hog Heaven ” because they had electricity.

           Mrs. Forrest attended Huntington ISD and excelled in short hand and typing. She married Edd  ‘’Sonny’’ Forrest when she was 18 and went to work for Lufkin Industries and worked there for 5 ½ years. Later in life, she decided to attend Beauty School, after receiving her license she owned/operated Paulette’s Beauty Nook located in Huntington, Texas. Paulette loved working on her flowerbeds, cooking , and attending Church services where she often played the piano and sang in the Choir. Mrs. Forrest is of Baptist faith, and she attended Harbor Light Church.

           She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Elbert Poulan of Etoile; daughter-in-law, Debra Forrest of Huntington ; Grandchildren , Cody Poulan, Jachob Poulan, Kaela Pinner, Case Forrest, Shawn Poulan, Lori McDuffie, Jennifer Stokes, and numerous great-grandchildren. Niece, Rhonda Utley; nephew, Kenny Wooley; and great nephew Rocky Rose.

           She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, spouses and son, Mike Forrest, and granddaughter Amy Gray.

           The family wishes to say a special thank you to Vanica Hampton for her assistance and all the help she provided Mrs. Forrest. She is appreciated beyond measures. Also, a special thank you to Hospice in the Pines. Staying at home would not have been possible without them both.
