Philip Dunaway Obituary

        Philip Dunaway, 82, of Austin, Texas passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, after a battle with cancer.


        Philip was born to Agnes Dunaway in Keltys, Texas on July 25, 1943.  After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at the Udorn base in Thailand where he served as an aircraft mechanic.  He then settled in Houston, Texas where he built a career and a family.  For over 30 years, he worked for Solvay Polymers as an engineer and product specialist.  Outside of work, he enjoyed  spending time with family and friends, listening to Blues and Rock & Roll music, reading with a special interest in British history, watching NFL football, working on computers, and camping at Big Bend National Park.  Philip will be remembered for his wisdom, strength, generosity, and his unwavering love for his family.


        Philip is survived by his children Laura Reid and Mitchell Dunaway, son-in-law Ben Reid, ex-daughter-in-law Kim Dunaway, and his life partner Sharon Dunaway.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Nate Dunaway, Juniper Dunaway, and Hazel Reid.   He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.


        His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
