Graveside services for Phillip Wayne Bowden, 58, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches County with Bro. Bobby Russell officiating.
Mr. Bowden was born May 24, 1963, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Lloyd Bowden and Shirley (Watson) Bowden, and died Monday, September 27, 2021, in Lufkin.
Mr. Bowden worked at the Paper Mill for over 25 years, until they shut it down. After the shutdown, he became a Respiratory Therapist and worked at CHI St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital in the PAM Unit for 15 years. Mr. Bowden loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was always cutting up and joking with his family. There was never a dull moment when he was around.
Mr. Bowden is survived by his mother, Shirley Bowden of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Sean Pickard of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Jenni and Dustin Allen of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Misty Bowden of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Jimmy Nichols of Gladewater; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Scott Childress of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tori Pickard, Easton Allen, Peyton Allen, and Caden Bowden; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Bowden; grandparents, Bertha and Elbert Bowden and Morris and Thelma Watson.
