Ralph Elvin Adams, Jr.

         Funeral services for Ralph Elvin Adams Jr., 51, of Pollok, will be held Monday, December 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Berry Cemetery.

          Mr. Adams was born September 5, 1970, in Lufkin, Texas, to Ralph Elvin Adams, Sr. and Linda Katherine (Herring) Madden, and died Friday, December 3, 2021, at his residence.

          Mr. Adams graduated in 1989 from Central High School and played competitive bowling in the Special Olympics. He enjoyed camping and listening to music. Mr. Adams loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros.

          He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin and Cressida Adams, and Jason and Andrea Adams; nieces and nephews, Emily and Bradley Adams, Carrissa Adams, Shelbi Adams, Justin and Eva Carrico, Zachary and Kim Carrico; and Bentley, Isabella, MaKayla, Diego, and Tadeo.

          Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Robert and Maudie Adams; and maternal grandparents, Anderson “Pops” and Doris Herring; along with numerous aunts and uncles.

          Pallbearers will be Bradley Adams, Kenneth Nerren, Zachary Carrico, Justin Carrico, Jason Adams, and Kevin Adams

          Honorary pallbearers will be Tracy Nerren and Mark Nerren.

          The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Lufkin Workshop where Ralph worked for 30 years, to Stephanie and Katrina Nerren for taking Ralph to ball games, and to Gwen Grumbles with Affinity Hospice for her care of Ralph.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
