The Janazah Prayer for Mr. Tamez will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. Interment will follow at Forest Haven Cemetery in Diboll.
Mr. Tamez was born on May 5, 2002, in Lufkin, Texas, to Maria Susana Reyes.
He was a loving, caring family man who had a deep love of music and animals. He was a positive male role model for his nieces, nephews and cousins and exemplified respect and consideration of others and the people he loved. He was a favored uncle among his nieces and nephews, and they felt they could just “be kids” with him. He had a rough start into adulthood but changed his ways and converted to Islam. He grew into a responsible man that took good care of his family and took great pride in being a dad to his beloved children most of all.
He was the loving husband of Hannah Baker of Lufkin; father of Evelynn and Isaiah Tamez of Lufkin; son of Suzy Holeman of Lufkin; son of Daniel Holeman of Diboll; brother of Daniel Holeman, Jr. of Diboll, Star Holeman of Lufkin, Alyssa and Robert Segura of Lufkin, and Briley Reyes of Lufkin; and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother, Antonia Reyes; grandmother, Ardel Holeman; and brother, Shea Holeman.
Pallbearers will be Vincent Cantu, Robert Segura, Pablo Perez, Jr., Daniel Holeman, Jr., Javier Lopez, George Cantu, Jr., Jonathan Daniel, Juan Luna, and Joshua Davis.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home.
May Allah forgive Robert Tamez, have mercy on him, and grant him the highest rank in Jannatul Firdous. Innā li-llāhi wa-ʾinnā ʾilayhi rājiʿūn.
