Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Horton Sr.

Visitation for Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Horton Sr., 77, of Huntington, will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home.

Mr. Horton was born on December 5, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to the late Dolph Dunhum Horton Jr. and Dorothy Irine (Morris) Horton and died Friday, April 26, 2024, in Huntington.

           Mr. Horton was a very outgoing person who had never met a stranger. He was a people person and went out of his way to help everyone that had a need. Mr. Horton enjoyed the outdoors and loved animals.

           He is survived by his son, Dunham Dolph Horton of Lufkin; daughter Rhonda Horton of Lufkin; daughter, Raquel Gilbert-Reaume of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Sheila Kay Wells of Lufkin; daughter, Kimberly Oniela Horton of Beaumont, TX; granddaughter, Nevaeh Horton of Lufkin; brother, Dennis Horton of Huntington; brother, Donald Dolph Horton of Pearland TX; brother Michael Sidney Horton of Livingston TX; along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

           He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolph Dunhum Horton Jr. and Dorothy Irine (Morris) Horton; and son Ronald Wayne Horton III.
