Rosalie (McKnight) Melancon

          Memorial services for Rosalie (McKnight) Melancon, 73, of Huntington, will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Huntington with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating.

          Mrs. Melancon was born January 31, 1945 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of Ernest Elbert McKnight and Clara Bernice (Cheatom) McKnight, and died Monday, July 23, 2018 at her residence.

          She loved volunteering at her church, Huntington First Baptist Church. Mrs. Melancon loved her family and enjoyed fishing. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.

          Mrs. Melancon is survived by her children, Angela Perez and husband Joe, Susie Hernandez and husband Jose, Thomas Anderson and wife Sherry, Billy (B.J.) Anderson and wife Terri, Jene Burnett and husband Kevin; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Lee McKnight; along with a large extended family.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Stacy Anderson; and sister, Frances Sisson.

          In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Huntington Food Pantry, 702 N. Main St., Huntington, Texas 75949.

          Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
