Rosalinda (Vasquez) Velasquez

         Funeral services for Rosalinda (Vasquez) Velasquez, 56, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Deacon Gary Trevino officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park Cemetery in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Velasquez was born on July 14, 1967, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, to  Teodoro Vazquez and Margarita Sanchez, and died Friday, March 1, 2024, in Lufkin surrounded by her family.

          Mrs. Velasquez was a very loving mother and grandmother she loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was the best mom and a excellent wife. Mrs. Velasquez was always happy and had the most beautiful smile. She enjoyed spending her time cooking, gathering with her family, and spending time with her grandkids. Mrs. Velasquez would give her all for her friends and family. She meant everything to her children.

          She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Vicente Velasquez of Lufkin; daughter, Nereida Velasquez of Lufkin; daughter and son-in- law, Berenice and Erik Baltazar of Lufkin; son, Vicente Velasquez of Lufkin; grandchildren, Hugo, Isaac, Natalie, Christopher, Valerie, and Liliana; bonus grandchildren, Stephanie, Erick Jr., Andrea, Julian, Eli, Junior, and Anthony; parents, Teodoro Vazquez and Margarita Sanchez of Piedras Negras; and siblings, Guadalupe, Juany, Teodoro, Yanet, and Cesar; father-in-law, Raul Velasquez; along with numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews.  

          She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Josefa Castillo; and brother-in-law Jose Olivares.

          Pallbearers will be Teodoro Vasquez, Cesar Vasquez, Hugo Ramos, Isaac Wallis, Julian Baltazar, Erik Baltazar, Alex Solis, and Michael Villela.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Teodoro Vazquez, Raul Velasquez, and her nieces and nephews.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
