Memorial services for Roxanna Ruth (Norris) Wade, 81, of Huntington, will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Lonnie Crawford and Bro. Robert Baggett officiating.

          Mrs. Wade was born on September 4, 1944, in Kerrville, Texas, to the late Hugh Carlton Norris and Johnie (Upham) Norris, and died Monday, May 4, 2026, in Huntington.

          Mrs. Wade was a member of Riverside Church in Hemphill, Texas. She was a devout woman of strong faith, and loved her Lord and Savior. Roxanne, along with her husband, Dwaine, helped establish The Most Excellent Way, a faith-based recovery program for drug and alcohol addiction, at First Baptist Church of Huntington, which impacted many lives. Mrs. Wade was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved being with her family. She also loved her siblings and all of her extended family. Mrs. Wade enjoyed fishing and hunting and took pride in teaching her grandchildren how to fish. She was a great cook. Mrs. Wade was a strong-willed and independent woman, fondly referred to as “The Little Red Hen”.

          She is survived by her daughter, Denise Treadaway of Huntington; son, Jim Dickey and wife Lisa of Zavalla; daughter, Angie Wagner and husband T.J. of Clyde, TX; grandchildren, Timfany and Mike Garcia, Kasey and Shelby Bryan, Zac and Elaina Treadaway, Destini and Jake Hicks, Tyler and Kaylee Green, Paige and Nathan Perry, Trapper and McKenna Dickey, SPC (U.S. Army) Conner Wagner, and Cooper Wagner; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Norris and wife Nancy; sisters, Beebe Valinte and husband Pete, Joan Smith, Sue Jurischk, and Alice “Teensy” Norris; sister-in-law, Betty Self; brother-in-law, Dwight Wade and wife Patsy; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwaine “Little Bub” Wade; daughter, Alishia (Wade) Buster; and son-in-law, Royce Wayne Treadway.

          Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

          The family would like to extend a special thank you to Huntington Healthcare and Rehabilitation for loving and caring for their mother.

          Memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
