Mr. Byrd was born on July 26, 1969, in Livingston, Texas, to the late Russell Byrd and Elizabeth (Tutter) Byrd, and died Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Lufkin.
Mr. Byrd had many friends. In fact, he never knew a stranger. He was a very caring and loving man, who would give you the world if he had it. Mr. Byrd had a big heart and made sure everyone knew that he loved them. He enjoyed western and horror movies, Chicken Express, and anything sweet. His love for his girlfriend, Melanie, was ever-present, and he always tried to have an extra Dr. Pepper on him to give her when they saw each other. Mr. Byrd has touched so many hearts and he will never be forgotten. His precious memories will last on forever, and he’ll always be our “Sweet Roy”.
Mr. Byrd is survived by his brothers, Russell Byrd, Jr. and James Byrd; sisters, Clara Lucky and Joyce Marie; special friend, Melanie Smith; along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
