Samantha Thacker

          Memorial services for Samantha Thacker, 37, of Lufkin, will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Brandon Brashear officiating.

          Samantha was born on July 21, 1987, in Riverside, California, to Connie Marie (Thacker) Jackson, and died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Lufkin.

          Samantha was a great mom and mother figure to many people. She was a good listener and gave the best advice. Samantha was a wonderful cook and enjoyed trying new recipes. She loved to go fast, reading, and arts and crafts. Family was everything to her and she loved her Lord and Savior. 

          Samantha is survived by her husband, Nick Gilbert of Lufkin; children, Cadyn Gilbert, Brody Gilbert, Tabytha Gilbert, and Dalila Jackson, all of Lufkin; mother, Connie Jackson of Lufkin; siblings, Chris Thacker and wife Amy, Dale Jackson, and Ashley Shepherd, all of Lufkin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nathan and Harmony Gilbert, Raymond and Tiffany Smith, and Brian and Martha Graves, all of Lufkin; father-in-law, Matthew Gilbert of Lufkin; and nieces and nephews, Leilani Thacker, Kalia Thacker, Myla Thacker, C.J. Thacker, Eric Lemaster, Bella Lemaster; Jacob Shepherd, Stevee Gilbert, Connor Gilbert, Allie Smith, Axell Smith, Ricky Macias, Alfie Macias, and Gary Graves, all of Lufkin.

           She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Mary Thacker; grandmother, Gloria Jackson; father, Eric Jackson; cousin, Nicky Ferguson; mother-in-law, Melissa Gilbert; and brother-in-law, Mikey Graves.
