Funeral services for Sheryl Ann (Brewer) Thornhill, 54, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, with Bro Donnie Napier officiating. The interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.

           Sheryl passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Lufkin. She was born on September 15, 1969, in Morgan City, Louisiana, to Richard Tyrone Brewer and Jeanette (Deauman) Maynard.

           Sheryl epitomized boundless compassion with a heart that knew no bounds. Her warmth welcomed all, transforming strangers into cherished companions. Once embraced by Sheryl's friendship, you became family. A shining star in academics, her creativity knew no limits. She reveled in arts and crafts and the challenges of puzzles and card games. Seeking counsel from Sheryl was akin to finding solace in a guiding beacon during life's trials. Yet, her ultimate source of happiness lay in her three beloved grandchildren. She devoted her afternoons and weekends to ensuring their lives were filled with love and fulfillment.

           Survivors include her parents, Jeanette and Steve Maynard; daughter and son-in-law-to-be, Laci Reynolds and Tim Neely; grandson, Kaden Thornhill; granddaughters, Aisley Reynolds and Emma Reynolds, all from Lufkin, TX; sister, Stephanie Sobolewski and niece, Sara Sobolewski of Jacksonville, FL; uncle and aunt, Max and Barbara Deauman of Wells, TX; cousins Joyce and Charles Stringer of Lufkin; and Quan and Sang Nguyen of Burtonsville, MA.

          She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Brewer; brother, Joe Allen Brewer;  grandparents, George and Sisilee Deauman; and mother-in-law, Yuvonne Thornhill.

          Pallbearers will be Brandan Marcus, Mason Marcus, Steve Maynard, Stephanie Maynard Sobolewski, Tim Neely, and Steve Thornhill.

          Honorary pallbearer will be Steve Hively.
