Shirley Diane "Ferguson" Pool

          Funeral services for Shirley Diane “Ferguson” Pool, 70, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Charles Weeks officiating. Interment will be at Cochran Cemetery in Huntington.

          Mrs. Pool was born on September 16, 1954, in Lufkin, Texas, to Marion Fulton Ferguson and Martha B. (Dixon) Ferguson and died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Pool liked to spend time tending to her rose bushes and drinking coffee. She enjoyed watching western “old” movies. Mrs. Pool adored and loved her grandchildren more than anything.  Mrs. Pool was the happiest when she was with her family.

           She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roger Wayne Pool of Lufkin; daughter and husband, Dianna and Albert Hendrix of Summerville, TX; daughter and wife, Belinda and Christi Pool of Lufkin; son, Roger Duane Pool of Lufkin; special niece and husband, Marci and J.D. Wise of Huntington; grandchildren, Ethan Pool, Elijah Pool, Lily Wise, and Christopher Hendrix; mother, Martha B. Ferguson “Dude” of Lufkin; sisters, Kathy Vest, and Brenda Drouet; brother and wife, Jerry and Telisa Ferguson; brother and wife, James and Midge Ferguson; brother, Jeffery Ferguson; along with numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her father, Marion Fulton Ferguson; and sister, Linda Ferguson.

          Pallbearers J.D. Wise, Albert Hendrix, Christopher Hendrix, Christopher Parker, Brandon Ferguson, and Tony Pool.

          Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home.
