Shirley Whitton

          Graveside services for Shirley Whitton, 63, of Hemphill, will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Zavalla Cemetery with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating.

          Mrs. Whitton was born on February 6, 1961, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the late Raymond Pierce and Jean Ruth (Nelson) Holloway, and died Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Zavalla.

          Mrs. Whitton loved to fish, read, and crochet.   

          She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Lakey; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and David McCarty; daughter and son-in-law, Tasha and Shane Pillows; daughter, Amanda Perkins; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Justin Stewart; grandchildren, Weston Lakey, Allyssa Lakey, Layla McCarty, Hayden McCarty, Hannah Pillows, Evangaline Perkins, Briley Perkins, and Wyatt Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Greysen and Axle.

          Mrs. Whitton was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Gary Whitton.

          Honorary pallbearers will be her daughters.

          Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
