Sidney James Hewitt

          Memorial services for Sidney James Hewitt, 61, of Pollok, will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Grace Dunn Richardson Park in Lufkin.

          Mr. Hewitt was born on February 14, 1964, in Crockett, and died Sunday, May 4, 2025, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Hewitt was a loving father and grandfather. He had a lot of love to give and made friends with everyone. Mr. Hewitt enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to joke with people, and especially loved to tell cringy dad jokes. 

          Mr. Hewitt is survived by his daughter, Ashley Hewitt of Bentonville, AR; daughter and fiancé, Erica Hewitt and Mark Phillips of Pollok; son and fiancé, Jeremiah Hewitt and Ryan Avis of Amarillo, TX; granddaughter, Paisley Phillips of Pollok; grandson, Oliver Burch of Pollok; granddaughter, Kaycee Phillips of Pollok; grandson, Luke Phillips of Pollok; grandson, Waylon Phillips of Pollok; granddaughter, Willow Avis Swae Phillips of Pollok; niece, Brittney Havard of Lufkin; nephew, John Lawson of Lufkin; and niece, Melissa Jones of Lufkin.

          He was preceded in death by his mother, Avis Carol (Jenkins) Welch; father, Ruban Welch; and sisters, Audrey Carol Lawson and June Deshawn Davidson.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Del Toro, Mark Phillips, Rodney Rodenbough, and Ryan Alvis.
