Silvia Walker Obituary

Mrs. Walker was born on January 14, 1952, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Norman Loo Green and Audrey (Paddie) Green, and passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Lufkin.

Silvia began working at Timberland Nursery in the early 1980s, six months before she married the love of her life, Melvin Walker. In 1995, Silvia and Melvin became the owners of the Timberland Nursery, carrying forward a family legacy and serving their community with dedication, honesty, and care.

Silvia was known for her warmth, generosity, and having created a sense of home wherever she went. She found joy in cooking, gardening, sewing, collecting cherished dolls, and decorating for the holidays. Her creativity and hard work were the heart of her family’s traditions, and she poured love into every meal, every celebration, and every person she cared for.

Silvia had a deep compassion for others and believed strongly in helping those in need. Whether it was offering support, donating to charity, or quietly assisting someone who had fallen on hard times, she gave from the heart. She touched countless lives, and many thought of her as an angel walking among them.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, Melvin Walker of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin Walker and Ashley Helms of League City; and sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Earl Wayne Stuckey of San Antonio. She is also lovingly survived by Fred and Billie Walker, who were not only her in-laws, but they were truly her family and her closest supporters throughout her life. Silvia is also deeply cherished by her extended family, including Lisa and her husband Robert, who were like a sister and brother to her, and by several beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her twin brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Marie Green.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Walker, Melvin Walker, Frank Walker, Aaron Stuckey, Matthew Stuckey and Jason Stuckey.

Honorable pallbearers will be Fred Walker, Earl Wayne Stuckey, Brian Walker, Jonathan Walker, Josh Granberry and Robert Wolverton.

Silvia will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her kindness, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that special memorials be made to the Galveston County Food Bank in Silvia’s honor. Donations may be made online by selecting “In Memory Of” at: https://www.galvestoncountyfoodbank.org/donation-now
