Stevie Joe Taylor

           Stevie Joe Taylor, 64, of Lufkin, was born August 15, 1956, in Midland, Texas, to Dempsey Lee Taylor Sr. and Annie (Hall) Taylor, and passed away on Friday, November 15, 2020 in Lufkin.

          Stevie grew up in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Estacado High School and then attended and graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a master’s degree in Education. Stevie was employed at the Pilgrim’s Pride plant in Lufkin.

          Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Kathy; brothers, Dempsey Jr. and wife Amanda, Johnny, and Edgar; father, Dempsey Sr., and wife Janie; sister-in-law, Janita; nieces, Tabitha and Katrina; nephews, Christopher, Shaqreed, Charles Jr., Ziquiron, Kaiden; along with a host of great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

          He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie; brothers, Charles and Kenneth; and sister, Stephanie.

          Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
