Tammy Cheney

           Funeral services for Tammy Cheney, 57, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. D.R. McNaughton and Bro. Bubba Sheffield officiating.

          Tammy was born on December 7, 1967, in Lufkin, Texas, to John Wilford Cheney and Judith Nell (Jackson) Sullivan, and died Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Pearland, Texas.

          Tammy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 30 years and worked very hard at it. She loved taking care of people. Tammy enjoyed dancing, music, and her church. Her favorite color was purple. She was a strong woman and all around great person. Tammy cherished her family and loved them more than anything.

           She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Ronnie Flowers of Lufkin; daughter, Sara Bray of Lufkin; grandson and fiancé, Cutler Flowers and Taya Gordon of Lufkin; grandson, Westyn Flowers of Lufkin; grandson, Bladyn Flowers of Lufkin; grandson, Colton Gray of Lufkin; great-granddaughter, Layla Gordan of Lufkin; great-granddaughter, Ava Gordon of Lufkin; mother, Judy Sullivan of Huntington; brother and sister-in-law, John and Amy Cheney of Huntington; brother, Robert Cheney of Huntington; brother, Shannon Cheney of Pineland; brother, Jeff Sullivan of Huntington; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her father; and sisters, Shelly Cheney and Stacy Cheney.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Cutler Flowers, John Cheney, Ronnie Flowers, Shannon Cheney, Corbin Cheney, and Colby Cheney.

          Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, prior to the funeral service.
