Funeral services for Teresa Ann Thompson, 64, of Diboll, will be held Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. D.R. McNaughton and Stephen Jansen officiating. Interment will be at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Diboll.

          Mrs. Thompson was born on August 25, 1960, in Lufkin, Texas, to Johnny Maxey and Armatha (Sowell) Maxey, and died Friday, November 1, 2024, at her residence.

          Mrs. Thompson was a member of First Baptist Church in Diboll. She was a dedicated office manager at McWilliams and Son’s Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing for over 27 years. Her world revolved around her grandbabies, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Thompson was an avid hunter, and fisherwoman. She loved to camp and travel to Arkansas and Branson. Mrs. Thompson was known for her delicious tea cakes.

          She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Melvin Ray Thompson of Diboll; daughter, Jessica Thompson of Diboll; son, Chip Thompson of Diboll; Lupita Thompson of Diboll; granddaughter, Lexi Thompson of Diboll; grandson, Mason Thompson of Diboll; granddaughter, Savanna Thompson of Diboll; mother-in-law, Ruby Frances Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Donna Jansen of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Irvin McWilliams of Diboll; sister and brother-in-law, LaJahna “NaNa” and Justin Harris of Lufkin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pamela Gail White; aunt, Norine Maxey; special sister-in-law, Ruby Frances Barringer; and special father-in-law, Melvin R. Thompson.

          Pallbearers will be Trey McWilliams, Jared Thompson, Tyler Dawson, Trey Mettlen, Stephen Jansen, and Keith Gill.

          Honorary pallbearer will be Mason Thompson.

          Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.
