Funeral services for Terrie Lynn Henson, 62, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at New Life Church in Lufkin with Pastor Tony Holder and Pastor Jeremy Yancey officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery.
Terrie was born on January 26, 1962, in Huntington, Texas, to the late Harold Cheney and Mary Ann (Franklin) Cheney, and died Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at her home.
Terrie was born in Huntington, Texas and resided in Lufkin, Texas with her spouse of 40 years, Ricky Henson. She was a member of New Life Church and loved her church family. Terrie was passionate about spending time with her son, Chris, his wife Liz, and grandson, Tyler. Terrie loved giving back to her community and participating in outreaches to show people the love of Christ. In her spare time, Terrie loved spending time at the beach and in the mountains, she also enjoyed going to swap meets with her husband and she especially loved spoiling her boys. Although Terrie battled cancer for 13 years, her faith never wavered. She made sure that everyone around her was well taken care of and knew that God had a greater plan for them.
Terrie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ricky Henson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Liz Henson of Lufkin; grandson, Tyler Henson of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Larry Townsend of Zavalla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Roger Cheney and David “Bubba” Cheney.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Brewer, Kevin Porter, Justin Lindsey, Jose Luis Colin, Ty Brown, and Jamar Simpson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zach Wells, Alan Figueroa, and Jose Colin.
Special memorials may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904 or to East Texas Cancer Alliance of Hope, 513 S First St, Lufkin, TX 75901.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2024, at New Life Church in Lufkin.
