Funeral services for Terry Gene Johnson, 71, of Huntington, will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington with Bro. Lamar Denby and Bro. John Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Huntington.

          Mr. Johnson was born on September 1, 1952, in Warren, Arkansas, to the late Charlie Leon Johnson, Sr. and Nellie (McGaha) Johnson, and died Monday, August 19, 2024, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Johnson was a member of Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington. He retired from Lufkin Industries after 42 years. Mr. Johnson enjoyed fishing, waterskiing, and being outdoors. Above all, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and grand dogs very much.

          Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Kathy (Ridgeway) Johnson of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Jennifer Johnson of Huntington; daughter, Angela Johnson of Huntington; grandson and fiancé, Brennan Johnson and Carley Wallace of Huntington; granddaughter and boyfriend, Brianna Johnson and Reilly Langston of Dallas; great-grandson, Daine Brooks Johnson of Huntington; sisters, Frances Reynolds of Arkansas, Johnnie Lee McClain of Arkansas, Sallie Wilkins of Lufkin, and Jackie Campbell of Lufkin; brothers, Pete Johnson of Arkansas, and Jimmy Johnson of Lufkin; brothers-in-law, Don Ridgeway, and Ronnie Ridgeway and wife Penny; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Johnson; and brothers, George Johnson, David Rainwater, and Leon Johnson.

          Pallbearers will be Randy Brooks, Cory Murray, Josh Stanbery, Ryan Largent, Steve Phillips, Travis Pinner, and Reilly Langston.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Short, Tom Ridgeway, Roy Traweek, Logan Johnson, Doug Russell, Don Ridgeway, and Ronnie Ridgeway.

          Special memorials may be made to Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 212 S. Main St., Huntington, Texas 75949.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington.
