Tommy Gene Andrews

          Funeral services for Tommy Gene Andrews, 69, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Russell Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Narrow Way Cemetery in Hudson .

         Mr. Andrews was born on August 5, 1953, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Oran Thomas Andrews and Ora Loraine (Harvey) Andrews, and died Friday, March 31, 2023, in Lufkin.

         Mr. Andrews loved to fish and hunt. When he was 16 years old, he grew to love mechanic work. He enjoyed watching softball games and also dirt track racing. Mr. Andrews also loved a good cup of coffee.

         He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sally Andrews of Lufkin; daughter, Jennifer Andrews of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Jerry Hoot of Lufkin; son, Samuel Farrell of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; daughter, Julie Farrell of Pasadena; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Katy Farrell of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, James and Nancy Andrews of Lompoc, California; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, special niece, JoEllen and Joe Musick of Ratcliff.

        He was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Eugene Andrews, parents, sister and brother-in-law, Era Laverne Cole and Travis Cole, sister, Joan Pflieder Andrews, brother, Oran Elton Andrews, sister and brother-in-law, Katherine Loraine Andrews and Walter Lovelady, sister and brother-in-law, Reba Louise and William Odean Lee.

          Pallbearers will be Cody Lee McDonald, Jeffrey Lee, Simon Lee, Joey Farrell, Buddy Ainsworth, David Allen, Ronnie Finch, and Patrick Musick.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Farrell and Braxton Farrell.

          Special memorials may be made to the Zavalla Food Bank, 21898 S. Hwy 69, Zavalla, Texas.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home.
