Travis Strong, 91, of Centralia, was born on March 17, 1934, in Palestine, Texas, to the late Jim Strong and Lena Luvena (Johnston) Strong, and died Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in Lufkin.
Mr. Strong was an avid hunter and fisherman, who rode and trained horses until he was 84-years-old. He was also an accomplished truck driver of 37½ years. He loved living on what he referred to as “The Hill” and proudly raised cattle until the age of 70.
He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Tullos and husband, Allen of Apple Springs, Texas; grandson, Michael Shane Tullos and wife, Cheyenne of Lufkin; granddaughter, Cheyanne Michelle Tullos of Centralia, Texas; great-grandson, Travis Shane Tullos of Apple Springs, Texas; brother, Virgil Strong and wife, Jean of Hudson; sister, Sharon Merryman of Nogalus Prairie, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 29 years, Melba Jo Strong; brother, Leo Strong; and brother, James Strong.
