Victor Manuel Villarreal

          Funeral services for Victor Manuel Villarreal, 73, of Moscow, Texas, will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Deacon Jesus Reyes officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.

          Mr. Villarreal was born on December 21, 1951, in McAllen, Texas, to the late Pedro Villarreal and Herlinda (Maldonado) Villarreal, and died Saturday, December 28, 2024, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Villarreal was a member of San Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Corrigan, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, cruising around in his truck, and scratching Lotto tickets. Mr. Villarreal loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known to always keep his yard neat and tidy.

          Mr. Villarreal is survived by his wife, Maria Villarreal of Moscow; daughter, Herlinda Villarreal of Moscow; daughter and son-in-law, Lizet and Matthew Martin of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Ashley Villarreal of Nacogdoches; grandson, Karter Pate of Nacogdoches; grandson, Victor Grey Villarreal of Nacogdoches; sister, Margarita Villanueva of Moscow; brother and sister-in-law, Jose Maria and Noelia Villarreal of Minnesota; sister and brother-in-law, Dora and George Rubio of Elsa, TX; sister, Victoria Vela of Mercedes, TX;  sister and brother-in-law, Liliana and Agapito Barrientez of Elsa, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pedro Villarreal; sister, Isabel Perez; brothers-in-law, Miguel Castro, Jesus Villanueva, and Gilbert Vela.

          Pallbearers Victor Villarreal, Jr., Matthew Martin, Jordan Martin, Pedro Villarreal, Jr., Manuel Castro, and Fredi Castro.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
