Virginia Joan Hancock

          Funeral services for Virginia Joan Hancock, 81, of Huntington, will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Souls Harbor in Lufkin with Pastor Ty Martin and Pastor Randall McCall officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Huntington.

          Mrs. Hancock was born on September 22, 1941, in Palmdale, California, to  Clifford Harold Robinson and Myrtle Ellen (Beaman) Robinson, and died Monday, August 14, 2023, at her home.

          Mrs. Hancock  was a member of Souls Harbor in Lufkin. She loved Jesus more than anything and loved talking about the Lord. Mrs. Hancock enjoyed decorating her home and having company over to enjoy it. She loved people.

          Mrs. Hancock is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Pat Morehead of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Erin Hancock of Huntington; daughter, Miranda Hancock of Lufkin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are very loved; and sister and brother-in-law, Linda Lou and William Garlington of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Richard Angelo Hancock; son, Troy Hancock; and numerous brothers and sisters.

          Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
