Wanda Lou Harris Obituary

           Funeral services for Wanda Lou Harris, 78, of Huntington, will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington with Bro Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow at Fielders Cemetery.

            Mrs. Harris was born on September 6, 1945, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late James Asa Jones and Martha Oline (Mitchell) Jones, and died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in Lufkin.

            Mrs. Harris was a member of Highway Missionary Baptist Church. She was actively involved with serving in the many ministries of her Church. She was also a caregiver to many of her family members. She enjoyed spending time outdoors going camping. Mrs. Harris loved playing Skip Bo with her friends. Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She told the story of even as a child, dreaming of being a little grey haired grandma surrounded by grandbabies. She loved every minute of it.

            She is survived by her husband, of 60 years Frank Harris of Huntington; son, Tracy Harris of San Antonio, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Dana Harris of Carthage, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Jennifer Harris of Lufkin; bonus daughter and husband, Fabiola and Billy Richardson of Conroe, TX; grandson, Asa Tucker of Huntington; grandson and wife, Kolton and Abigail Harris of Huntington; granddaughter and husband, Makenzie and Jake Williams of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Sadie and Ryan Reeves of Richmond, KY; grandson, Blake Harris of Lufkin; grandson, Corbin Harris of Lufkin; grandson Bryce Richardson of Conroe, TX; grandson, Hunter Hodges of Orange, TX; granddaughter and husband, Hannah and Adam Holt of Cleburn, TX; great-grandson, Beau Jackson Reeves; great-granddaughter, Emersyn Williams; great-grandson, Gunnar Harris; great-grandson, Kannon Harris; great-grandson, Noah Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jynette Jones of Huntington; brother, Harold Jones of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Gary Hatcher of Pollok; and numerous nieces and nephews.      

            She was preceded in death by her parents.

            Pallbearers will be Asa Tucker Harris, Kolton Harris, Blake Harris, Corbin Harris, Ryan Reeves, and Jake Williams.  

            Special memorials may be made to Highway Missionary Baptist Church (Building Fund) 212 S Main St, Huntington TX 75949.

            Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington.
