Wanda Zell (Ward) Cheshire

          Graveside services for Wanda Zell (Ward) Cheshire, 79, of Diboll, will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at West Shady Grove Cemetery in Cherokee County with Bro. Steve Comstock officiating.

          Mrs. Cheshire was born October 14, 1940 in Jacksonville, Texas, the daughter of the late Edgar Newton Ward and Cara Mae (George) Ward, and died Monday, March 9, 2020 at her residence.

          Mrs. Cheshire is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ken Cheshire of Diboll; son, Ward Cheshire of Humble, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Tammy Cheshire of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Richard Spoerle of Humble; granddaughter, Amber Cheshire of Diboll; granddaughter and husband, Caurie and Morgan Gantz of Humble; granddaughter, Lauren Spoerle of Humble; grandson, James Cheshire of Diboll; grandson and wife, Nathan and Meena Spoerle of Houston; grandson, Thomas Cheshire of Diboll; grandson, Jacob Spoerle of Humble; 7 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Dottie Ward of Jacksonville; brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Linda Ward of Jacksonville; brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Donna Ward of Jacksonville; sister and brother-in-law, Nola Sue and Bob Mays of Oxford, MS; along with a host of family and friends.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joel Edgar Ward, Jerry Don Ward, and Ronnie Lynn Ward.

          Pallbearers will be James Cheshire, Thomas Cheshire, Nathan Spoerle, Jacob Spoerle, Morgan Gantz, and Shane Wells.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Jadarius Spencer, Kaelan Whitworth, and Jorge Anthony Salcedo.

          Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
