Funeral services for William Williams, 87, of Pollok, will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Clawson Assembly of God Church in Pollok with Bro. Joel Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Flat Cemetery in Pollok.
Mr. Williams was born on February 20, 1935, in Pollok, Texas to the late Brooks Williams and Fannie Jane Williams, and died August 6, 2022, in Pollok, Texas.
William Williams loved to watch baseball, especially Central High School, where he got “fan of the year award”. He loved to tell the story of how he fell off of an 80 foot oil rig and walked away. He bravely served his country in the U.S. Army. In his younger years, he got to race Elvis Presley, then later enjoyed watching his children also race on the dirt track. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and pitching washers, but most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sarah Annette Williams; daughter, Kathy Redd; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Roger Crawford; daughter, Sonya Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Bonnie Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Charity and J.R. Hedden; grandchildren, Brandy Grigson, Levy Redd, Sharon Lubbesmeyer, Thomas Crawford, Laura Lee Cote, Colin and Allie Kitchens, Austin, Brandon and Cassidy Jo Williams, Alexis and Rylee Hedden, Sarah Bolton, Candace Jackson, Rainie Corley and Dakota Williams; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his sons, David Paul Williams and Terry Lynn Williams; parents, Brooks and Fannie Williams, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and son-in-law, Roy Redd.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be the True Heart Hunting Club.
Special memorials may be made in Mr. Williams name to Sand Flat Cemetery Association, 4450 W. State Hwy 7, Pollok, TX 75969.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Clawson Assembly of God Church in Pollok.
